The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) plays a very significant role in enhancing the quality of education in an institution. The core functions comprise of developing and applying quality benchmarks, promoting a learner-centred approach, facilitating research and innovation as well as preparing the Annual Quality Assurance Report. It helps in ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of the different tasks of the institute. The cell implements, and also establishes, criteria for assessing the quality of various academic, administrative and operational activities within the institution. It also works towards creating a learning environment that adheres to promoting effective practices of teaching and learning, and is focussed on students’ needs and necessities. It strives to provide a sound basis for decision making to improve the overall functioning of the institution. In short, IQAC is a nodal agency for disseminating information on quality parameters as well as documenting various activities and events that lead to qualitative development of the institute. The role of the coordinator is also of paramount importance in ensuring the cooperation of all stakeholders in working towards the development of the institute, coordinating various activities that would enhance the quality of the institute, in building an organized methodology of documentation, and in ensuring the internalization of the quality culture.
