FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK:
The Govt. College of Teacher Education (CTE), Tezpur, is va premier teacher education institution located in the Sonitpur district of Assam. The college was established in the year 1977 as a result of sincere efforts of some dedicated and noted educationists of Tezpur. It was affiliated to Gauhati university in the same year, i.e. 1977. The college was taken over by the Govt. of Assam in the year 1996 and recognized by NCTE in 2001. The college is located in Mazgaon, near Nikamul Xatra, Tezpur. It is about 185 kms by road from Guwahati via Nagaon, and about 161 kms via Mangaldoi.Â
Since its inception, the college has been rendering relentless service to the teaching community and the teacher trainees in particular. At present, the college is providing two-year B.Ed. program (under Gauhati University) and D.El.Ed. program (under SCER, Assam) of four semesters each, on regular mode.
Govt. CTE, Tezpur is committed to providing quality teacher education through developing adequate teaching skills in the teacher-trainees, and also proper attitude towards the teaching profession. The teaching staff is dedicated towards contributing in every way towards inculcating the required knowledge and skills in the teacher trainees.
I am truly honoured and feel very privileged to be the principal of CTE, Tezpur. I always look forward to work with the staff, students and the guardians to make the institution better and community-centered. My commitment is to lead the institution with dedication and passion so as to enable it to reach its cherished goals.
